The Scott Hannon Memorial Foundation Annual Golf Tournament
In 1991, the players attending the first Scott Hannon Memorial Golf Tournament had no idea they were building the foundation of what would become an organization that would touch the lives of hundreds of children in South Carolina.
The first tournament was held in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina was an 18-hole event attended by sixteen players. By 1995, the tournament had expanded to a 36-hole event played over 2 days at various course along the Grand Strand.
In 1999, the tournament moved to Myrtlewood Golf Club. The two courses and condo facilities at Myrtlewood proved to be the perfect fit for the tournament which was now drawing in excess of 150 players.
Barefoot Golf Resort in North Myrtle Beach became our new home in 2008. Ranked as one of the top golf resorts in America, it is a fitting location for a tournament like The Scott Hannon Memorial.
From the beginning, new participants came to the tournament by invitation only. Friends inviting friends is the philosophy which has grown our annual attendance to over 250 golfers.
Each year the tournament committee works hard to make sure that The Scott Hannon Memorial Golf Tournament remains not only a time of great fun and fellowship but also the best golf tournament value anywhere.
